"Pour un fabricant de guitare, une guitare archtop est un instrument impitoyable qui exige beaucoup d'expérience et de pratique. Je les fabrique depuis plus de vingt ans, et maintenant je suis en mesure de produire des instruments en circulation constante.
A ce stade, la chose la plus importante que j'ai apprise a été de respecter la conception et les idées des anciens maîtres. Je n'ai jamais aimé changer les choses sans raison, et même alors, je préfère qu'elles soient, en quelque sorte, cachées.
Il y a de tout ça dans les instruments que je vais exposer au Salon de la Belle Guitare; jetez un oeil par exemple à la conception des cordiers, sillets, micros et les commandes de volume / tonalité. Il ya d'autres choses encore moins évidente, mais vous verrez qu'ils font tous sens, qui est le précepte principale de mon travail." Fernando Alonso Jaén
"For a guitar maker, an archtop guitar is a ruthless instrument which requires a lot of experience to make. I've been making them for more than twenty years, and now I am able to produce outstanding instruments consistently.
On the way here, the most important thing that I learned has been to respect the design and ideas of the old masters. I never liked to change things without a reason, and even then I prefer that they are somehow concealed.
There are examples of this in the instruments that I'll bring to the Salon de la Belle Guitare; take a look for example at the design of the tailpieces, saddles, pickups and volume/tone controls. There are other things still less evident, but you'll find that they all make sense, which is the main precept in my work." Fernando Alonso Jaén
